The Grow Cedar Valley (GCV) Ambassadors are a select group of 50 business leaders and professionals who volunteer to support and represent the organization in the community. Their mission is to actively promote the growth and success of member businesses, enhance member relations, and contribute to community development. The Ambassadors engage in activities that align with the goals of GCV, including welcoming new investors, assisting in public relations efforts, and promoting economic development within the Cedar Valley region. Ambassador openings are filled in March and September each year.

Application deadlines are February 28 and August 30.

Ambassador applications are accepted year-round, with new Ambassadors selected to fill vacancies in March and September. This program offers an opportunity for individuals from our investor organizations to play a vital role in promoting and supporting our mission to strengthen the Cedar Valley region.

Term of Service

Ambassadors are expected to serve for a minimum of one (1) year and membership is renewed annually. The maximum term limit, if any, shall be determined by the Ambassador Co-Presidents in consultation with the Grow Cedar Valley Board of Directors.

Membership Requirements

Ambassadors are responsible for actively engaging with new and existing members, attending ribbon cuttings, grand openings, ground breakings, and other significant events to represent GCV. These events typically occur Monday through Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM. Annually, there are an average of 75-100 events. Calls for Grow Cedar Valley are typically worth one (1) point per event. Individual Ambassador point totals must reach at least one-third of the total available points by the end of each fiscal year.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must be employed by a Grow Cedar Valley investor organization.
Applicants must have been part of an investor organization for at least one year.
- This can include multiple organizations as long as organizations are all GCV investors.
At the time of election, only one Ambassador may represent a single business, organization, or immediate family (spouse/child). For a current Ambassador roster, click here.
A completed application, resume, brief bio, and three references must be submitted for consideration.
Must be willing to purchase a purple Ambassador jacket from designated vendor. (Approximate cost: $225)
