Over the past year, Grow Cedar Valley has worked to attract and support businesses, create opportunities for residents and ensure that local communities are well-positioned for long-term success. These efforts reflect a shared commitment to economic development that benefits businesses, workers, and families alike.

A recent report, prepared by Impact DataSource, provides a detailed analysis of the outcomes achieved through these efforts. A customized Total Impact model, licensed specifically to Grow Cedar Valley, looks at data from past years and realistic estimates for the future to calculate how these projects impact the local economy.

The measurable outcomes of the past year illustrate the impact of Grow Cedar Valley’s efforts:

Economic Impact of Recent Efforts

Between FY 2023 and FY 2024, through collaborative partnership, Grow Cedar Valley supported six business locations or expansions, resulting in a range of benefits for the regional economy. Here’s a look at the projected impact of these investments over 10 years:

Total permanent jobs created over 10 years 168.2

Total economic output generated over 10 years $448,294,247

Total workers' earnings over 10 years $70,042,925

Total taxable sales over 10 years $10,186,696

Total additional net benefits for cities over 10 years $6,178,988

Total additional net benefits for state & local districts over 10 years $16,891,054

For every $1 invested in Grow Cedar Valley’s economic development program during this period, the projects supported or generated:

$540 in economic output

$84 in additional worker earnings

$12 in additional local taxable sales

$7.44 in additional net benefits for cities

$20.34 in net benefits for state and local taxing districts

Additionally, the investments resulted in the creation of 168 permanent jobs over 10 years. When factoring in direct, indirect, and induced jobs, every $4,900 in investment led to a new job.

Impact DataSource noted "a one-stop center for economic development services is critical to a community's economic growth and many of these investments may not have occurred without the efforts of Grow Cedar Valley."

Grow Cedar Valley remains focused on strengthening businesses, workforce opportunities, and community development to support the region’s future.
