Grow Cedar Valley Hosts Town Hall Meeting with Area College and University Presidents
posted on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in The Cedar Valley Community
With the fast-approaching start to the 2020 Fall semester, Grow Cedar Valley hosted a town hall meeting with area university and college presidents.
Hear from Wartburg College President Dr. Darrell Colson, Hawkeye Community College President Dr. Todd Holcomb, and University of Northern Iowa President Dr. Mark Nook to learn the most up to date back to school plans for the upcoming Fall 2020 school term.
As a quick recap, all three higher educational institutions are limiting their classroom capacity and encouraging face coverings to be worn on campus. Each institution has hired or dedicated staff to assist the local health department office with contact tracing.
The institutions are encouraging businesses to adopt and enforce personal protective procedures such as masks or social distancing. A public and private partnership displaying the necessity for caution and exercising safety will ultimately keep numbers low.
On behalf of the Cedar Valley business community, we want to thank our area college and university presidents for sharing their plans for the start of the school year. Our higher educational institutions have a large impact on the Cedar Valley economy and by working together, we can move forward safely.
